With the rising costs of everything from pet food to veterinary care, we have had to make the difficult decision to firmly enforce a surrender fee policy for incoming animals. An owner will be required to pay a $100 surrender fee due at the time of surrender. Please bring any vet paperwork/proof of vaccination along at the time of surrender. The surrender must take place at the shelter building by the original owner of the animal. When an animal is surrendered to the shelter, it is given a comprehensive vet exam and any medicines or surgeries that may be needed. Those costs add up quickly, especially when a spay surgery can cost upwards of $200 alone and that is a very common surgery that is done with shelter animals. We understand that times are tough for everyone right now, but this policy will allow us to continue to help as many animals as possible with the additional funds to help cover the cost of care.
