We have had a number of dogs & cats at the shelter that have needed extra veterinary care. Thanks to an anonymous donor, we have a $250 matching challenge starting right now! From now until July 7th, the first $250 that’s donated will be matched!

Chance is one of those animals that needs extra veterinary care. He came to the shelter in mid-May with a deformed back left leg. The vet said it was badly infected and would most likely need to be amputated. Since Chance only weighed 1 pound, the surgery would have to wait until he had some time to grow. He was given some pain medication and antibiotics. About a week later, part of his foot fell off due to the infection. Now he needs to have his leg wrapped with fresh bandages daily (and sometimes more often than that if he gets dirty) to keep the infection from getting any worse before his surgery. Chance has been a good little patient, letting the volunteers change his bandages without too many problems. He is such a sweet kitten, even with his bad leg. In a couple weeks, Chance will have his leg amputated and begin the healing process.

Can you please help us give Chance a second chance?
